MY WORK

I created this video because of my concerns of tutoring gen alpha kids. I used popular memes, trends, and audios to engage the audience to bring in something familiar and humorous. I did this by drawing inspiration from story time reddit videos by using the text to speech feature and added captions to make it easier to read.

For my editing process, I used a red animation with dark clouds on the Cocomelon baby in Capcut to exaggerate the effects it causes to children. I included a video by “thecircusbrain”, a tiktoker, to show an example of how quickly Cocomelon changes scenes every 2-3. I also included better alternatives like Wild Kratts and compared it to Cocomelon by adding some clips to show how the colors contrasted.

Ultimately, I wanted to make a call to action to parents. It’s not about banning screens; it's about managing screen time and the type of content kids are watching. I wanted to recommend something educational that encourages more active learning so kids can develop the space they need to grow.
